What is Kidstuff's Pokémon Pre-Order Terms & Conditions?

Kidstuff Pokémon Pre-Order Terms & Conditions

At Kidstuff, we want Pokémon pre-orders to be fair, clear, and enjoyable for everyone.

We’re excited to offer selected Pokémon pre-orders to our customers through our Kidstuff Pokémon VIP mailing list. Pre-orders are especially helpful for popular releases, limited products, and items that may sell out quickly.

By placing a Pokémon pre-order with Kidstuff, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to the terms below.

How Pokémon Pre-Orders Work

Pre-orders may be offered for:

  • Upcoming Pokémon expansions and new releases

  • Restocks of recently sold-out products

  • Limited edition or special release items

When pre-orders become available, Pokémon VIP members will receive an email with the available products and ordering instructions.

Orders are processed on a first come, first served basis.

Pokémon VIP Early Access

Pokémon VIP members receive access to pre-order opportunities before products become available to the general public.

To keep the process fair and accurate, all Pokémon pre-orders must now be placed through our Pokémon VIP email ordering system or through our website.

We are no longer accepting manual Pokémon pre-orders in store.

This helps reduce ordering errors, avoids miscommunication, and gives every customer the same opportunity to place an order.

Payment

Full payment is required at the time of placing a Pokémon pre-order.

This applies to pre-orders placed through our Pokémon VIP email ordering system and through our website.

Your payment secures your place in the allocation queue.

Fair Pricing

At Kidstuff, we believe in fair and honest pricing.

We will not increase the price of products simply because they are available for pre-order or are in high demand.

Whether you secure your item through a pre-order or purchase it from our shelves after release, you’ll pay the same genuine retail price, unless a genuine sale or promotion applies after release.

Shipping & Collection

When ordering online, you may choose either:

  • Shipping

  • Free in-store collection

Once your order arrives and is ready, we’ll notify you by email.

Orders selected for in-store collection must be collected within 7 working days of notification.

If we have not heard from you within this time, Kidstuff reserves the right to cancel your order, process a full refund, and offer the product to the next customer on our waiting list.

If you need a little longer, please contact us. We’ll always do our best to help where possible.

Supplier Allocations

While we always do our best to secure enough stock, placing a pre-order does not guarantee allocation.

Occasionally, our suppliers may reduce the quantity allocated to Kidstuff. Unfortunately, this is outside our control.

If this happens:

  • Orders will be fulfilled in the order they were received

  • Customers who miss out will receive a full refund

  • You may ask to join a waiting list in case more stock becomes available later

Release Dates

Release dates are supplied by our distributors and may occasionally change due to manufacturing, shipping, or supplier delays.

Although stock may arrive to us before the official release date, we are unable to sell, release, ship, or allow collection before the authorised release date.

If delays occur, we will keep customers updated by email.

If you no longer wish to wait because of a delayed release, you may cancel your pre-order before dispatch or collection for a full refund.

Purchase Limits

Purchase limits may apply to selected Pokémon products.

These limits help ensure as many collectors, players, and families as possible have access to new releases.

We like to keep things fair and appreciate your understanding.

Order Confirmations & Communication

All communication regarding your Pokémon pre-order will be sent by email.

This may include:

  • Pre-order announcements

  • Order confirmations

  • Payment confirmations

  • Collection notifications

  • Shipping notifications

  • Delay updates

  • Allocation updates

Please ensure your email address is correct when ordering.

If you have any questions, please contact us at info@kidstuff.net.nz

Order Cancellations

You may cancel your pre-order at any time before the product’s official release date and before your order has been shipped or collected.

A full refund will be issued using your original payment method.

If Kidstuff is unable to supply your order due to supplier allocation changes or unforeseen circumstances, you will also receive a full refund.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I join the Pokémon VIP mailing list at any time?

Yes. New members are welcome to join at any time.

You’ll receive future pre-order opportunities once you are subscribed, although joining after a pre-order email has already been sent will not guarantee access to that particular release.

Can I change my order after it has been placed?

If you need to make changes to your order before the pre-order closes, please contact us as soon as possible.

We’ll do our best to accommodate changes where stock availability allows.

Can I combine multiple pre-orders into one shipment?

Yes. If multiple items are available to ship together, we’ll combine them where practical.

If your order contains products with different release dates, your order may be held until all items have arrived unless separate shipping has been arranged.

Please note that some items may be classed as oversized. If multiple large items are combined, or if your order is being shipped to the North Island, an additional freight charge may apply.

If this happens, we’ll contact you before dispatch.

Will you sell my pre-order to someone else?

No. Once your order has been confirmed and paid for, your allocation is reserved for you.

The only exception is if your order remains uncollected after 7 working days and we have been unable to contact you.

In this case, your order may be cancelled, fully refunded, and offered to the next customer on our waiting list.

What happens if Pokémon releases earlier than expected?

If we receive stock earlier than expected, we will still honour the official release date.

We are unable to sell, release, ship, or allow collection before the authorised release date.

Can someone else collect my order?

Yes. If someone else is collecting on your behalf, you can let us know beforehand so our staff know who to expect.

Alternatively, they can provide your name and order number when collecting.

Why do you require payment upfront?

Requiring payment confirms your commitment to the order and allows us to fairly allocate limited stock.

It also helps reduce cancelled orders and ensures as many genuine customers as possible have access to new releases.

What if my confirmation email does not arrive?

Please check your junk or spam folder first.

If you still cannot find it, please contact us at info@kidstuff.net.nz and we’ll be happy to help.

How quickly should I place my order after receiving the VIP email?

As soon as possible.

Popular products can sell out quickly, and allocations are made on a first come, first served basis.

Why have you changed to an online VIP ordering system?

We’ve introduced this system to make the process fairer and more transparent for everyone.

It provides a clear record of every order, reduces the chance of misunderstandings, ensures all customers have equal access to pre-orders, and helps reduce automated purchasing by prioritising genuine Pokémon fans.

Why don’t you know exactly how much stock you’ll receive?

Pokémon products are allocated to retailers by our suppliers.

While we place orders based on customer demand, suppliers occasionally reduce the quantities they can provide. This is common across the industry and is unfortunately outside our control.

If allocations are reduced, we’ll fulfil orders in the order they were received and contact any affected customers with a full refund or the option to join our waiting list.

Our Fair Play Promise

At Kidstuff, we believe Pokémon should be fun, exciting, and fair for everyone.

That’s why we won’t inflate prices, we won’t take secret pre-orders, and we won’t reserve stock outside our published process.

Every customer has the same opportunity to secure new releases through our Pokémon VIP system, with all orders processed fairly and transparently on a first come, first served basis.

As a locally owned family business, we’ve spent more than 25 years building trust within our community. We’re committed to treating every customer with honesty, communicating openly, and doing everything we can to make your Pokémon collecting experience a positive one.

Thank you for supporting Kidstuff. We truly appreciate your support and wish you the very best of luck with your Pokémon pulls!
